September 2009
I'd like you to write about what books you are reading at home. As you read, please take the time to open this website and write two paragraphs at least once every other week. The first paragraph should tell me what is happening in the book you are reading. The second should detail how you feel about the book. Your grade will be based on how often you post. By the end of the trimester, I'd expect at least 5 posts.

FIRST BLOG OF THE YEAR
This book is about a boy named "Tick" Higgenbottom. He recieves a letter telling him thst if he burns the letter he accepts the challenge and will be sent 12 clues. The first one tells him he will need to say ,magic words, the rest are also parts of instructions. He gets attacked by this ghost thing and stung by a bunch of bees.
Eventually he travels to Alaska with his father to find out who sent the letter. When he gets there he discovers it was sent by someone called Master George. He then leaves the POstman's house, but they get fllowed and the postman, Norbert, Saves them from a car crash.
He then meets another person who had recieved the strange letters. He already knew her, because she was his penpal, and they helped each other figure out the sixth clue. They both then went home to recieve the rest of hte clues.
When they recieved all of the clues finally, they had instuctions of when, where, and what to be doing. He had to go to a graveyard and do a set of instructions. When he did them he got transported to a different reality. There one of Master George's brought him back to his reality, in the middle of the Bermuda Traingle. There him, Sofia, and 2 other boys learned about the mystical power that controlled the unvierse, and the evil women who was try to control it by conquering the 13 realities.
He had them travel to the 13th reality and steal her wand that allowed her to travel in between realities. He said his spy Annika would get it for them and it would be their job to get her out of there. They got to Mistress Jane's (the evil lady) castle. They came to the gates and Annika got out but she was killed by these blind gargoyle beasts. they retrieved the wand but the inside of the wand was missing, which meant it couldnt be powered. They didnt kno this yet though, and Tick powered by himslef somhow.They learned this later on just before they all went home.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked how it made you think about what happneded next. It did not paint a very good picture in my head about what everything looked like. but it was a very interesting novel.
Haddon, seriously? You thought you got the first blog of the year? You are one grade behind. I mean if you want to be in 6th grade it's fine by me, but just look at all the 7th grade blogs that have been posted. Not so fast, Mr. First Blogger of the 6th Grade Year!
